While it's fine for the groom to be dressed in a western tuxedo suit for an Indian wedding, nothing quite matches up to the ethnic "kurta churidar" or "sherwani". Or, if you want to play safe, there's the Bandhgala Jodhpuri suit which is a fusion of the two styles, and looks very apt for the occasion. If it's a series of ceremonies you're planning for your wedding, we recommend you stock up on your wardrobe with an eclectic mix of different styles.

The traditional Indian attire for the groom includes a headgear too - a colored silk turban or safa lends a stately appearance to the costume. Coordinated 'juttis' or closed, embellished shoes complete the groom's outfit.

Red and its many shades are the traditional colours for the Indian bride though other auspicious colours like gold, saffron and green are being widely used too. The bride has a glittering collection of richly embroidered sarees, "lehngas" and "salwar kameezes" to choose from an amazing range of fabrics, and an equally flamboyant range of accessories.
